Houston Storms
Last week we had a pretty big storm. There was lightning, thunder, high winds, and lots of rain. The power went out and even though Marielle didn't seem to notice anything different, I held her on the couch (I think as an extra comfort to me) and watched the rain come pouring down. The storm didn't last very long, probably an hour all together but it sure made a mess in our neighborhood. We fared pretty well since none of our trees broke and our fences stayed up, but our backyard turned into a SWAMP!

Mullen Family Christmas 2006
What's this Christmas in July?? Well not really, but I finally got around to putting this video together. It was fun looking back on how tiny the babies all were! (The other humans haven't changed too much).  Anyhow, Merry Christmas. It's fun to celebrate all year long!

The Mullens go to DC!
We returned Monday from a ten day trip to Washington DC. We had such a great time. The weather wasn't too hot since most days we had pretty good cloud cover. (We got rained on twice and realized during the first downpour that our umbrella wouldn't open!) We saw most of the main attractions-- White House, Capitol, National Archives, Smithsonian Museums, War and Presidential Memorials and a few of the lesser known like Mt. Vernon, Embassy Row and the National Postal Museum. One of our highlights was going on a "double date" to see Riverdance at an outdoor amphitheatre -- they make dancing look good. We stayed about an hour outside of the city with one of my college roommates and her husband and had a great time catching up with them and getting to know their kids. All in all it was a great trip. We loved having all day every day to spend together as a family with no work! :)
