Coffee or Tea?

Like most little girls, Marielle has a tea set. She plays with it often and shares her "tea" with me. But the other day she offered me a cup of coffee. It surprised me and I told her, "Marielle we don't drink coffee." This of course was followed by lots more questions and me fumbling through an explanation of the Word of Wisdom and trying to reconcile all the imaginary tea we've been drinking. In the end, I think we were both confused.
What would you have done: drank the coffee or shunned the tea from the start?

It's so funny when they pick up on these things. Adalie learned about coffee from McDonalds. We just have good ole' fashioned chocolate milk parties with our tea set :-)

You should have had boys... then you don't have to do tea parties. I think ours would be juice parties, although that doesn't sound quite right.

I think completely confusing her was a great solution. Maybe you should go with that approach when she asks where babies come from too.

I would start off by saying it was a hot chocolate party, but that is also because I love chocolate! :)

I don't think there's a wrong answer here. Either way Marielle wins, because she has a mom who spends all day with her, takes the time to have tea parties, and then uses the opportunity to teach her gospel lessons. Good work!

Maybe I should have had a 4th boy. I like Christy's approach.
