Can't Stop the Twirl

Have I mentioned that I love it when my girls have matching dresses? I do. And even though my days of prancing and twirling in a new dress are over, I can certainly encourage this behavior in my offspring. See for yourself, they are lovely. Oh and the dresses are beautiful too.

A Baby Emerges

Rex, oh Rex. You have not been the easy baby we were hoping for. Some days it seems if you are not asleep or eating you are crying. My parents have told me many a time how I had colic and cried day in and out. Is this payback? I am still sleep deprived in a big way, but somehow getting by and making the cogs turn in our little five person home. But now that you are two months and a few days, you are giving me some sweetness to remind me you really are a little person who I am so excited to get to know. How 'bout these little grins to erase the fog of the 12, 2, and 6am feedings? (not to mention two nights ago when you woke EVERY TWO HOURS!)

By the way, despite my complaining, moms don't hold grudges. I love you little baby.

The One Year Anniversary of Jenna's Discovery of Chocolate

We are pretty lucky that each year on St Patrick's Day (and sometimes one day later when certain parents spend all day at Disneyland on March 16th), Lucky the Leprechaun visits our home. If you are avid Mullen blog follower, you've seen the posts.
To make life even more exciting, this year we set a trap for the little guy. We didn't catch him, though his glove was left behind in his frantic attempt to escape, and thankfully he didn't hold a grudge against us and even left the customary gold stash, green milk and Lucky Charms.

And so this morning while the world was thinking St. Patty's was so yesterday, we ate our Lucky Charms and relished in the joy that comes by tricking, I mean creating magic, for our children.

Tea Party

What is it that's so fun about a tea party? Is it the frilly hats? The tiny cookies? Could it be the apple juice poured from a itty bitty pot? Pinkies extended? Perhaps the silly British accents? I don't know, but Bethany and I decided to sit down to high tea Sunday afternoon, and before we knew it we were hosting nearly every female in the house. Good thing we never ran out of hats.

Cheerio!

Outie

Crazy huh?

The More We Get Together, Together, Together

About two years ago Ryan and I had a tough decision: Austin or Santa Barbara. Since the schools were on par with each other our choice was house or family. Of course our little family was never in jeopardy, but we could live in a house in Austin or live near extended family in Santa Barbara. Commute times and weather factored in too, but those were the major balances on our decision scale. Nearly two years later, this beach day reminds me we made the right decision.
