Cabinet Make-Over

My kitchen used to look like this:
Pretty uninspiring, huh?

Now it looks like this:
Don't you love it? I love the brightness the white brings to the room. I love the clean look. I love stepping into my "new" kitchen. I am so happy with our results! I knew from the day we moved I wanted to re-paint the drabness that was my kitchen. I found the inspiration here, and I happen to so blessed to have a mother in law who loves paint projects and is even willing to do them on vacation! Thank you Shula!! Here are a some shots of our work in progress:
It took us about 2 days, but was so totally worth the effort. Come visit anytime, I'd love to show them off.

Ryan and I like to have a little contest each Easter to see who can decorate the best Easter Egg. I won't say who won last year, but the winner pulled down the victory with a replica of the Texas State Flag. We would love your vote to name this year's victor. Ryan just heard back that he was awarded a doctoral fellowship at the Max Planck Institute in Frankfurt. When he first applied we really thought it was pie in the sky, but went ahead to get a foot in the door and get Ryan's name circulating. But he got it! We accepted on Monday and are planning to leave on June 10 after finals. We'll stay through December 19th, just in time to be home for Christmas. We are so excited for this opportunity and hope it leads to all our summers in Europe! Now we've got to figure out what to do with our apartment. Know anyone looking for a nice summer home in Santa Barbara?
