Ryan just heard back that he was awarded a doctoral fellowship at the Max Planck Institute in Frankfurt. When he first applied we really thought it was pie in the sky, but went ahead to get a foot in the door and get Ryan's name circulating. But he got it! We accepted on Monday and are planning to leave on June 10 after finals. We'll stay through December 19th, just in time to be home for Christmas. We are so excited for this opportunity and hope it leads to all our summers in Europe! Now we've got to figure out what to do with our apartment. Know anyone looking for a nice summer home in Santa Barbara?
